Operating Procedures

POOL AVAILABILITY

  • Key swimming will be available at your own risk beginning May 1 until the pool officially opens at the end of the school year.  See Key Privileges for more information.
  • Once the pool officially opens, fully staffed lifeguards will be on duty Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.  
  • Key swimming is available at all other times at your own risk, apart from the hours between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. when the pool closes to all swimmers.
  • When school starts again in the fall, the pool will be fully staffed only on the weekends (August & September). All other times will be key swimming ONLY.
  • The pool will close completely at a date also set by the Board that is usually around the end of September or October.

 

GENERAL PROCEDURES FOR POOL

  • Annual dues must be paid in full by April 30th of each year to be allowed to use the pool, even during key swimming.

PLEASE NOTE: Dues payments received after April 30th will delay the processing of your membership and pool access.  

  • All members and guests must register each day they enter the club facilities.
  • Each stockholder family is entitled to 8 free guests per summer. After 8 guests have signed in there will be a guest fee of $5.00 per day per guest.  Guest fees must be paid in cash at time of entry. Out of town family guests that live more than 20 miles away are free. For more than 5 guests, party rates become applicable. Members are responsible for their guest’s actions.  
  • All children under 15 years of age MUST be always accompanied by an adult stockholder or babysitter (18 years or older).
  • Stockholders should expect closure of the pool from time to time for the benefit or enjoyment of the membership (i.e., swim meets). Specific dates will be posted on our website as they become available.
  • Swimming lessons are available for members.  Contact a manager or lifeguard for further information.
  • Swim team and tennis camp are available for members’ children.  Please visit the website for updated information.

 

KEY PRIVILEGES

  • Key swimming is at your own risk.
  • Every stockholder family has their own 4-digit code that will allow access to the pool gate and the tennis gate.
  • Replacement key cost is $10.00. Key is used for access to the main gate at the entrance to the parking lot and parking lot-side doors of the restrooms.
  • Adults (18 or older) and families may swim before regular pool hours at their own risk (5:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.; 9:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.). It is suggested that two adults be present for key swimming.  
  • No guests allowed during key swimming.
  • No key swimming is allowed during swim team practice 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Monday through Friday).
  • Children under the age of 18 MUST be always accompanied by an adult stockholder.
  • All gates must be kept locked, and all trash put in containers.
  • The KCI Board reserves the right to withdraw key privileges from anyone who does not comply with all rules and regulations.

 


Club Rules and Regulations

USE OF THE CLUB’S FACILITIES

All members in good standing are encouraged to make full use of all the Club’s facilities.  The By-Laws (Article 1, Section 3) make it clear, however, that only fully paid stockholders may use the facilities. Their use is subject to the rules developed and published by the Board of Directors and laws of this state.  Failure to comply with Corporation Rules may lead to suspension of members’ privileges in accordance with Club By-Laws. It is the purpose of this section to specify the rules that have been developed to govern use of the present facilities.  

 

SWIMMING POOL GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

  • Food and drink are allowed in designated areas only.  No food and drink within 3 feet from pool’s edge.
  • For the safety of bathers, absolutely no smoking or pets within all fenced areas and buildings.
  • No glass containers are allowed inside the pool area or on the pool deck, even if kept in a cooler or other bag.
  • Regulation swim wear only. Cutoffs and other such swim wear create a maintenance problem and will not be tolerated. For young children who are not potty-trained, parents should ensure that swim diapers or similar clothing is worn.
  • Common sense regulations that will be enforced include: 
    • No running on pool deck
    • No horseplay
    • No swimming in the diving area
    • One person on diving board at a time
    • No sitting on lane ropes
    • Toys that lifeguards or managers deem unsafe must be removed from the pool immediately.
    • No foul or abusive language
    • No shoving, dunking, or throwing others into the pool
    • No tampering with pool equipment
    • No climbing fences or other structures
    • No use of bicycles, skateboards or other unsafe or inappropriate equipment inside the pool fence.
  • Use of the baby pool will be limited to children not able to stand in the main pool.  Parents are responsible for supervising children using the baby pool.
  • Children under 15 years of age MUST be always accompanied by an adult stockholder or babysitter.
  • Lap swimming is permitted upon request to the manager.  An end lane may be blocked off with a lane rope for a reasonable length of time upon a member’s request.
  • No talking to lifeguards on duty in the stands.
  • Use of toys and floatation devices may be restricted at the discretion of the lifeguard on duty.
  • The club manager or assistant managers have the authority to close the pool when necessary due to inclement weather or equipment problems.
  • Bicycles, scooters, etc. should be locked.  Pool personnel cannot be responsible for stolen items.
  • Continuous violation of these rules and regulations will be presented to the Board for remedial action and possible suspension of privileges.

 


Clubhouse, Pool & Grounds/Pavilion 

RENTAL REGULATIONS & GENERAL RULES FOR RENTALS

  • Members in good standing may rent the clubhouse, pool, or grounds for family functions.  
  • Commercial functions sponsored by a member must be approved by the Board.
  • Decorations must be free standing and may not be attached, glued, stapled, or nailed to the ceiling, walls, or floor.
  • If the facilities show any damage more than the deposit, the sponsoring member’s club privileges will be suspended until repair, replacement or arrangements are finalized to the Board’s satisfaction.
  • No glass containers are allowed outside the clubhouse.
  • No smoking in the clubhouse.
  • No bathing suits or wet clothing are allowed in the clubhouse.  Shoes must be worn before entering.
  • Clubhouse furniture and games must remain inside.
  • The clubhouse and/or pool may be rented for 4 weekend nights (Friday & Saturday) per month, leaving 4 weekend nights per month open for club activities.  All weekdays are available for rental.
  • A small pavilion will be reserved inside the pool area for parties.
  • A uniformed security guard and minimum of 2 chaperones per 25 teenagers is required for teenage parties.

Tennis Court Rules and Regulations

  • Abusive language, racquet throwing, and other distractions are not allowed.
  • The court area must be cleaned up before players leave.  No food or glass containers are allowed on the courts.
  • No smoking on the tennis courts.
  • No children are allowed on the tennis courts unless they are playing tennis.
  • Players should be dressed in appropriate tennis attire and shall wear tennis shoes.  Absolutely no other type of shoe other than rubber soled tennis shoes will be permitted on the court surface at any time.
  • Private lessons may be arranged by club members; however, the member must be present when lessons are conducted.
  • Requests for rental of the tennis courts must be made to the Board of Directors.  Rates will be set according to the length.
  • The court gates must be locked, and lights turned out after each use.  The last member of each day to utilize the facilities is responsible for locking the entrance gate when exiting the club premises.  
  • Courts must close by 10:00 p.m. and lights turned out.
  • Continuous violation of these rules and regulations will be presented to the Board for remedial action and possible suspension of privileges.

 

GUEST RULES FOR TENNIS

  • Members are limited to 3 guests per month.
  • Members shall accompany their guests and register them properly.
  • Members bringing 3 guests at one time must play doubles.
